How does it work ?

Once you’ve set up your request (jira project or JQL filter), the jira add-on will analyze your workflow to determine the different stages by calculating the time alllowed to each request.

In this example, the jira add-on help you to know the number of days allowed to each stage of the workflow :

Thanks to the jira add-on, you now have a clear vision of the long lasting stages, ie. 14 requests remained on « TO DO » stage more than 10 days.

All the requests that were impacted in the previous reports are collected in this table. In this example, the filter is set on « TO DO » stage, to easily see the requests that have lasted more than 20 days.

The result is stricking :

Step by step guide

To install the jira add-on, you need to be a jira admin.

Go to administration / additional component. In « search in marketplace » field, seize the name of he jira add-on « Agd balance report » or Appsonic. You can as well go directly to the marketplace web page directly.

The add-on is available in the tab report of each jira project.

Once selected, you can leave the project by default.

Or select a project or a JQL filter which you would have previously created for the requests that you need to follow, by clicking on « Change filter or project » link.

Then click on « Next » button, the report will be generated with its 3 tabs (overal time, time per stage and detail).

FAQ

Q: how can the add-on determine whether a request is solved ?

A: For each type of request, a workflow including statuses is associated. Each status is associated to a category. In this example, “Resolve”, “Closed” and “Done” are in complete states.
